To our Polani: Polani was and always shall be a joyous little spirit. When She was eight weeks old, she came into my life and took over my heart! She literally danced with happiness whenever I came in the door, and was always ready for a walk, a game of keep-away with one of her stuffed toys, a massage, a treat...her long pluming tail was her pride and joy, and she wagged it often. Even when she became terminally ill with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia, and was in intensive care being poked, tested, prodded, and not responding to anything the wonderful veterinarians tried, she accepted it all with loving understanding that they and I were trying to help her. She lost the battle less than 2 weeks after she was diagnosed, but she was affectionate until the end. Euthanasia was the final gift I could give her, and now she is playing near the Rainbow Bridge! |
