On the first and third Tuesday of each month, Deceased Pet Care provides a welcoming environment for grieving pet parents.  This complimentary service is designed to help pet parents heal the heartache and sadness associated with the loss of a cherished pet.

Our Complimentary VIRTUAL Pet Loss Support Group is designed for adult pet parents who have experienced the loss of a beloved pet.  Conducted by Deceased Pet Care, our group is led by Dr. Austin Shugart, PhD and Licensed Therapist, with Thrive Forward Therapy.  As the grandson of Deceased Pet Care's founders, Doyle and Maudann Shugart, Austin has spent a number of years providing grief counseling services to pet parents in need.  As an avid pet lover, Austin understands the unconditional love we share with our pets. When that bond is broken through a loss, the profound grief and emotion can be surprising and overwhelming. Sharing that personal grief with others who understand is an important step toward recovery.

Our monthly group is beneficial if you are a bereaved pet parent who is:

  • Feeling lost without your trusted companion;
  •  Unsure how to explain to a child about the death of their loyal pal;
  • Thinking family and friends fail to understand your unhappiness;
  • Speculating on whether it is too soon to adopt another pet;
  • Experiencing ongoing grief from the loss of your pet companion;
  • Preparing for the passing of your pet or considering euthanasia.

Join us to share your story, or just listen and receive support from others who understand what it means to lose a pet.  We will explore the grief process and learn ways to let go and move forward in a meaningful way that pays tribute to your beloved pet.  Together we can get through the grieving process and start the recovery process.
