Testimonials
Jeff and I wanted to say thank you to you and the young man that came to pick up Skipper. Please let him know we said thank you, he was very polite and respectful. And thank you for spending the time with me on the phone. This of course is unbelievably difficult, but you and the staff made it easier. Our other horse is getting long ok, and has formed a three some with our two goats. Nothing will ever be the same, but will be ok.

To our Pep:

Pep and his son, Bear, were my first (and only!) foster dogs. When I picked them up at animal control I was afraid I had bitten off more than I could chew. The officer grabbed them from their crate, snarling and biting, and handed them to me. The moment we left the building, their demeanor changed. They calmed down and I felt so relieved and knew I had made the right decision. Bear was adopted shortly thereafter by a loving family, but Pep was already 6 years old and was on medication for seizures so he was just too much work for prospective adopters. After a few months, I took him off the adoption site and adopted him myself. I already had 3 dogs, what's one more? And besides, he fit in with our little family. The next 10 years, little Pep terrorized dogs 10 times his size and made sure no strangers entered the house without being announced. He was the best cheerleader, too, as he watched Iggy, Spike, Sassy and Paulie (another rescue!) compete in agility, lure coursing and racing events. He enjoyed all our road trips and made his mark in every rest area along the eastern seaboard! He eventually lost his sight, but never lost his silly bark and could detect squirrels even without seeing them! I will never forget his little bark or the adorable way he rolled over for a tummy rub. Someday I'll rub that tummy again. See you on the other side, sweet little man!
